ProBlogger Social Media Love-In
Darren over at ProBlogger has a great event going on. Just go comment and put in your social media information. Then go through and add other bloggers, writers, and social media people! This is a must for any writers in new media out there wanting to establish their social presence (hint hint!). Get on over and get connected!
P.S. They are having problems with the spam filter. Please remember to put the phrase”social media” in your comment.

That’s a great question, Stephen. I am going to start a new blog soon on social media’s philosophical implications, where I intend to talk a lot about why you should have as dense and transparent a presence as possible. My reason for this is that people looking for things (whatever they may be) look in only a few places each, therefore people who provide things need to be in all of those places. You should be, literally, ubiquitous.
This is the same reason my post on freelance sites said to have multiple profiles…clients only need one account to fulfill their needs, but you need accounts on all of them to have access to the best clients.
I will suggest some methods for getting around the whole “100 microblogging accounts issue” in my next blog post. I think this is a question lots of people have, and I am glad that you raised it. I only use a few simple programs that allow me to be on every major microblogger simultaneously, post each update to them all at once, and then track my friends on each service. It’s not perfect, but it works for me so far.
So you’re one of the people to ask: Realistically, if you’re a working person (I am), how do you distinguish which are the best options for social networking in the way that will accomplish what you want it to accomplish? I mean, I can’t join 20 Twitter-like deals and genuinely participate. I’d never have a life aside from that.(Thanks for following me. I’m about to start following you–if the brief thunderstorm here has not knocked out Twitter.)

Indeed, Max!
Hi Neal,
it is indeed a great event, without it we would probably never have ‘discovered’ each others sites.
Cheers,
Max
